Eurostar has launched a brand new route to the Alps via Lyon
A direct service from London to Lyon takes 4 hours and 40 minutes, and passengers can change platforms and travel onwards to a range of stations in the French Alps. Running every Saturday in the winter season, this new route opens up some exciting new journey prospects for skiers.
As well as providing an alternative route to the Tarentaise resorts served by the direct Ski Train, the new Lyon route gives access to a wide range of resorts in other parts of the Alps, including Chamonix and Sauze d’Oulx, that previously required a more inconvenient change of station in Paris.
Previously, there were a number of ski resorts that you could only reach by changing station in Paris. Now you can reach the following destinations much more conveniently, by simply changing platforms in Lyon:
Alpe d’Huez, Avoriaz, Chamonix, Chamrousse, Flaine, La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand, Les Carroz, Les Contamines, Les Gets, Les 2 Alpes, Megève, Montgenèvre, Serre Chevalier, St Gervais, Val Cenis Vanoise, Valloire and Valmeinier.
Bardonecchia, Cesana-Sansicario, Claviere, Sauze d’Oulx and Sestriere.
